2015 Crappie Season

I have been busy preparing for another successful crappie season and look forward to many limits being caught on some new brush piles that I have added this season! The lake is in good shape and is over pool level!! Thank God for the rain! If we keep getting spring rains wew will be playing in the buck brush so if your a bass fisherman who likes to flip and pitch cover or a beginner who wants to learn those 2 techniques you need to call me! Flipping and pitching the buck brush is my favorite way to fish Rayburn! Heavy line and BIG hooks! Call me for your fishing experience on Lake Sam rayburn at (936) 554-9404! Look forward to hearing from you and God bless!

Fishing Report from TPWD (Jul. 9)

GOOD. Water stained; 86 degrees; 1.54 feet below pool. Freshwater is still entering the lake from the river, and water is being released. Topwater bass bite is early in the morning and evening. Bass are deeper on points, drains and humps with crankbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are good on brush piles, but many undersized fish and bluegill to sift through. Catfish are good in 18-20 feet of water on cut bait. A few white bass are schooling on main lake points. Cast baits to shade. Report by Captain Lynn Atkinson, Reel Um N Guide Service.
